These viral smashed date s’mores have everything you love about classic s’mores in an easy no-bake treat that comes together in minutes. Made with just 5 ingredients, they’re so delicious you’ll want to keep a batch stocked in your fridge at all times.
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know I love anything made with Medjool dates and chocolate (hello, Snickers stuffed dates and date bark!). So after seeing Melissa’s Healthy Kitchen and Kale Junkie share these smashed date s’mores, I knew I had to try them for myself.
Since I’m gluten-free right now, I swapped the traditional graham crackers for Simple Mills Sweet Thins. They have the same sweet, crunchy graham cracker flavor, so you still get all the classic s’mores vibes in every bite.

Ingredients Needed
- medjool dates – naturally sweet, soft, and caramel-like, medjool dates are the perfect base for these smashed s’mores. Make sure to use fresh, soft dates for the best texture.
- marshmallow fluff – creates that classic gooey s’mores filling. I used Toonie Moonie’s Organic Marshmallow Fluff, which is dairy-free and made with simple ingredients.
- chocolate chips – melted chocolate coats each s’more bite. I used Lily’s chocolate chips to keep the sugar content down, but any semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips will work.
- coconut oil – just a little helps the melted chocolate become smooth and easy to drizzle.
- graham crackers – to make this recipe gluten-free I used Simple Mills Sweet Thins. They add the perfect crunchy layer and taste just like traditional graham crackers. If you don’t need the recipe to be gluten-free, feel free to use regular graham crackers instead.

How to Store
Store smashed date s’mores in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The chocolate will stay firm while the dates and marshmallow fluff remain soft and gooey.
For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months. Enjoy them straight from the freezer for a firmer, chewier treat or let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.

Press a Sweet Thin cracker into the marshmallow fluff.
-
Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.

Drizzle the melted chocolate over each date, covering as much of the cracker as possible.

Sprinkle with crushed Sweet Thin crumbs and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate and marshmallow fluff are set. Enjoy immediately or store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
